Diving lights
The ancient Thracian capital Seuthopolis lies on the bottom of lake Koprinka. With its remains perfectly preserved by the water and still easily accessible, the site would be of great interest for underwater enthusiasts. Diving lights is a series of structures which brings light from the surface to the bottom of the lake. Each object captures sun light, utilising a number of magnifying lenses, positioned at an angle so that they can concentrate the sun’s rays on one spot, despite the position of the sun. It’s submerged into the water, providing seamless passage for the focused rays directly to the bottom of the lake. For optimal illuminating of given places of interest, the structures are grouped and fixed in specifically chosen spots. The lights of tomorrow dive into the past revealing the secrets of forgotten cities and the everyday habits of our ancestors. The remains of this ancient life are touched once more by the sun’s rays.
